My journey into strength didn’t begin with barbells. It began on a squash court. As a young competitive squash player and later a coach, I learned the intense discipline of precision, agility, and strategic thinking under pressure. Squash taught me how to read opponents, adapt instantly, and push my limits — lessons that later shaped my career in sales, leadership, and business development.
From squash, I moved into cycling. Long rides replaced tight courts; endurance replaced explosiveness. Cycling taught me patience, consistency, and the mental toughness to keep moving forward even when the body wanted to stop. Those miles built a foundation of resilience that would become essential in the chapters that followed.
But life has a way of testing the strength you think you have. My path included a failed marriage, a business venture that collapsed with partners, and years of financial strain — including bankruptcy early in life. And for 14 years, I carried one of the deepest responsibilities a person can shoulder: caring for my elderly father through his decline until his passing. These weren’t “obstacles.” They were turning points — moments that stripped away illusion and forced me to rebuild my identity piece by piece.
In 2002, I began practicing Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism. Chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo daily became my anchor. Practice gave me the determination to transform adversity into growth, to uncover inner potential, and to advance no matter how heavy life felt. It became my inner strength training.
Later in life, I discovered barbell strength. Unlike sport or business, the barbell doesn’t negotiate. It tells the truth. It rewards effort. And it teaches that progress — in muscle, career, or character — is earned through consistent, measurable action.
Over time, I realized something profound: People often try to improve their body, business, or inner life in isolation. But real transformation happens when all three rise together.
That insight inspired Wealthspan Strength® — a system that unifies physical training, disciplined business execution, and spiritual practice into one daily framework. It’s built for people 40+ who carry real responsibility and want to build their strongest chapter yet.
Three pillars. One integrated life. Strength — in every direction.
