I was born in 1966 in West Allis Wisconsin. I grew up in a very athletic family. I had a golf club in my hand when I was 4 years old. My brother was 4 years older than me and was a gifted athlete. I attribute much of my athletic success to him for pushing me to perform beyond my years in a variety of sporting activities as a youngster.

I found success in multiple sports including, but not limited to volleyball, basketball, track, and darts. I retired from my corporate gig at 55 years old and decided to combine my love for sport and fitness with modern technology and Autumn Athletes Not Done Yet was born.

I will begin with a little back story. I have had people ask me about how I train, how I eat, and how to become fit and strong on a regular basis throughout my life. I have many answers to these and other life changing questions so I thought I would share my insights with the world. The original idea was to document workouts and fitness challenges, review philosophical insights, and outline my approach to nutrition. As I began doing these things I thought it might be interesting to see if there were others out there that live like I do and sure enough there are! I began to reach out to them so I could find out what they did in regard to their health and fitness, and the rest is history.

As far as the name goes, I think of it like this… A “Spring” athlete is just blooming, they are growing, learning, and developing. A “Summer” athlete is in their prime, they are powerful, skillful, and fully blossomed. An “Autumn” athlete is past their prime, the leaves are changing colors, maybe a few have fallen off, but to many people it’s the most beautiful season of the year. Autumn Athletes continue to move, set goals, and trains hard to achieve those goals whether they are to walk around the block without stopping or break a world record. As long as the bareness of ‘Winter” has not set in they are NDY!

So I started a YouTube channel with the hopes of building a worldwide community of Autumn Athletes that would engage, entertain, inspire, and learn from one another to help us all enjoy a fit and active lifestyle.
I injured my knee during a basketball game in April 2024. I went to a walk-in clinic about a week after the injury and was told my ACL was strong and intact. I spent the summer struggling to rehab the knee only to battle with pain, loss of leg control, and swelling. I sought out a surgeon to get a diagnosis in August of 2024. He examined me and sent me to get an MRI. I returned to the doctor to get the results reviewed and that is when I learned I had a torn Meniscus and completely torn ACL. I had surgery October 26, 2024.

Below is a video diary of my ACL journey. I invite you to come along for the ride.

I am anxious to get back to competing as I recover from this injury. My focus will be on getting back on the track to compete in the 100-800 meters. I would also like to get back to playing beach volleyball, table tennis, and pickleball competitively. I think basketball will take a back seat for a while. No matter what level I return to in these and other sporting activities I will always work hard to keep my overall body fit and strong. I am forever NDY!
